Who You Know and What You Do

They say that it's not what you know, but who you know. There's a truth to this, but it's not the whole truth. In the case of nepotism, you might be given a cushy job and ridiculous salary for being a goofball and bringing very little to a company, but generally speaking, you need to bring value if you want to succeed.

But there's a reason why successful people network. Business is about people and relationships, and when you know people, you discover your opportunities expanding quickly. I've developed a lot of useful skills over the years, and I'm a doer. But I have to be able to apply those skills to something if I want to succeed, and the more people I know, the more "somethings" are opened up to me.

For instance, by now I've developed relationships with some pretty incredible manufacturers. This puts me in the fortunate position of entering the market early with exceptional products filling exceptional demand.

It ALSO lets me share that kind of opportunity with those who have taken the time to network with me and, because I've spent years as a professional writer and digital marketer, I'm able to share my knowledge with those who want to grow a business alongside me. The fact is, this whole site is devoted to doing my part of networking -- extending myself to others to teach techniques for business opportunity assessment; sharing the opportunities that pass the stink test; and freely teaching methods for building toward success online. (Sign up for my mailing list at the bottom of any page here for a free course on this.)

If you've been looking for a big, big opportunity and are ready to WORK in order to hit a home run (sorry ... push button victories are much hyped and rarely happen) consider some of what I know is coming:

  • Vaping is about to largely replace traditional smoking, and while there are lots of e-liquids (vapors ... juices) out there, they're all just variations of the same thing. Only ONE product is about to totally change what vaping's all about ... and it's about to be featured on an international celebrity stage in spring 2014. This will soon be a multi-billion dollar industry, the way smoking has been. Can you imagine having been one of the early tobacco plantation owners? Can you imagine turning smoking into something that promotes health? What role do you want to play in that?

  • As the age of antibiotics is about to die (because we've created superbugs, and the drugs will no longer work), bacteria are about to play a central role in how we address health problems in the body. Health care is a trillion dollar industry -- what role do you want to play in that?

  • Scientists continue showing how light and sound can alter the body ... for good or for ill. But we're only in the infancy of products that effectively use alternative healing techniques. One, however, has already shown its ability to drastically extend the life of food, vastly reducing what we throw away. (The average family throws away about $600 in food each year.) Now this technology has been developed to promote health and improve the food we eat. Think there's a future in something like that? Where will you be?

  • Like him or not, the Ron Paul movement raised people's awareness of the delicate and pretty much fraudulent money system we operate under. And like it or not, Bitcoin is raising people's awareness of alternatives. There are fortunes to be made as the economy inevitably transforms to empower the people and enable fairer global trade. Would you like to have been one of the original banking families when our current system was set up? What will you do about this one?

This is why I'm passionate about networking. Because we're on the edge of things that can transform the world we're living in, and we're at a point when we need to seriously change some things. Thanks to years of making contacts and thanks to continuous study, I'm able to help you find a position in these areas and more. The only thing I can't do is force our connection. If you can see yourself taking part in any of these, if you want to stay on top of major developments and get in ahead of the wave, I encourage you to sign up for my mailing list and get the latest from me as opportunities open up.

But remember ... it's not just about who you know. It's also about what you do. Your part in your own success is being open to learning; then doing the work of learning; then doing the work of applying. We can network all day long with others, but if we fail to take action, we fail. But if you're a doer, and if you really want to change your life, then I urge you to connect here, and let's do "success" together.
