Warning! You can lose your entire mailing list by promoting affiliate offers or network marketing opportunities, because this is against the terms of most providers. Don't risk your list! Read on here for your solution!
I know the hype and attraction -- that somehow network marketing will make you a ton of money overnight.
But that almost never happens. Usually the people who appear to make a lot of money "overnight" with MLM or network marketing are the ones who have spent years building contacts, skills, and smaller successes along the way. Which is like most areas of life.
If you want to build toward meaningful wealth in network marketing, it's really important to build a list (so you're building contacts), and to do that you need an email list software. After that, you'll need to entice people onto your list, and this is usually done by offering them something for joining (and then promoting that offer). This is a big topic that's written about extensively elsewhere. For this article, I'd like to introduce a system that I think you should know about for MLM.

"If you want to build toward meaningful wealth in network marketing, it's really important to build a list, and to do that you need an email list software."
Things You Need for Your MLM Email List Software
- First and foremost ... the ability to email about network marketing / affiliate marketing. Most companies (like MailChimp) do NOT allow this. So if you choose those companies, you could lose your entire list. Don't take this risk, and make sure to read their TERMS.
- Affordability. If you're thinking about network marketing as a long-term business, then you're on the right track. But there are plenty of costs as you get started and you need to stay on budget. There are high-end systems that cost close to $100/month or even more. I would steer clear unless you have specific needs only filled by those services. (Not likely in MLM.)
I'm going to tell you about an option that is FREE (unlimited list size), though it has MANY benefits for those who choose to upgrade for $20/month.
- A way to capture leads. This means lead capture forms for your website; and if you don't have a website (or to supplement it and track what forms work well), landing pages. (These are dedicated pages enticing people onto your list; they include a lead capture form.)
All services include lead capture forms; some include landing pages, including the free one I'll tell you about here. - Leads? Of course you'll need leads to actually join your list. This is the great challenge of any marketer, and their are countless ways to get those leads. Do not expect most email system to help provide you with leads.
The system I'll tell you about can actually help you attract leads; these particular leads are "affiliate / MLM" type people, and may be from around the world. They may not be good leads for other types of offers.
Option #1: A System You Can Rely On
All the features you could want with 24/7 support.
AWeber
Most of the big name companies I've looked at prohibit you from sending affiliate and MLM emails. The one exception I know of is also one of the biggest names in email marketing: AWeber. If you don't mind paying for an email list software, it's a great option.
- It has no terms against affiliate / MLM email marketing.
- It is likely to have all the features you're looking for.
- AWeber and Mailchimp (which I don't like and doesn't allow affiliate marketing) are the two you can most rely on for being tightly integrated with a lot of new software that roles out, if you use other marketing software.
- AWeber is the best I've seen when it comes to easy and beautiful lead capture forms for your website.
- Like many but not all services, you can set it up to automatically send your latest blog to your subscribers, so you can send emails without thinking about it.
- You can segment your readers by their interests, behaviors, or characteristics in order to reach the right people with the right message if you wish.
- 24/7 customer support.
- It starts at $19/month for up to 500 contacts. (Or closer to $16/month when you pay by the quarter.) Its pricing compares with other leaders.
Option #2: Free Forever with Exclusive Features
SendSteed
As of 2020, this is a relatively new platform, but it comes from a company that has been helping marketers to generate leads online since 2008. It does NOT integrate with all the latest marketing software. It's a standalone system that allows you to send affiliate / MLM emails. (Just don't send pyramid schemes or anything else against their terms.) And it's free forever, and offers these features for free accounts:
Pro Accounts get everything above PLUS:
Sending Limits:
Broadcasts can be sent to Active Subscribers (new to your list, or have opened your emails in the last 30 days), Inactive Subscribers, or both.
- Up to 10 mailing lists with unlimited contacts per list
- Email broadcasts
- Lead capture forms, including lightboxes, full-screens, slide bars, corner blocks, and more.
- Landing pages with built-in lead capture forms.
- Basic tracking of sends, opens, and clicks.
- Preview Text: this is pretty cool. Systems like Gmail and AOL show a preview of an email, usually showing the first sentence of the email itself. You can choose to set a custom preview for them, better written to encourage someone to open the email!
Pro Accounts get everything above PLUS:
- Unlimited lists
- Autoresponders (i.e., automated emails sent out over time to your subscribers). I love autoresponders, which is why I feel a Pro account is important.
- Repeat Broadcasts: if you want the same message to go out on a regular basis (between every 3 and 30 days), you can have it do so. This is a great way to regularly check in with your subscribers and remind them who you are ... even if you've not bothered to write anything new!
- Subtle Verification: this is another huge reason to consider a Pro account. Oddly, many if not most people who subscribe to an email list NEVER confirm their subscription by clicking an email link. This means you LOSE many leads who should be subscribed to you. Pro accounts have 1 month to email Unverified users up to 4 times to complete the opt in. In many cases, if they OPEN the email, they will be confirmed. If their email settings don't allow this, they can still click any link in the email (like to a free ebook ...) to confirm.
You can use Repeat Broadcasts to set up enticing emails for those who haven't finished their confirmations so this is all done on autopilot. Just to be clear, this means you have the verification email and up to 4 more opportunities to get someone onto your mailing lists, and once you set up a good Repeat Broadcast, it's all done on autopilot. This should build you much bigger lists.
Sending Limits:
Broadcasts can be sent to Active Subscribers (new to your list, or have opened your emails in the last 30 days), Inactive Subscribers, or both.
- Active Subscribers: free accounts can send 10 broadcasts a month; pro accounts can send unlimited.
- Inactive Subscribers: free accounts can send to them once a month; pro accounts twice. This is to limit sending to those who aren't very interested and gets you better open rates. If they open an email, they get moved to the "Active" list. (With certain email settings, they may need to click a link to get active again.) Send your BEST STUFF to this group since you're limited.
Even More Unique
The thing about SendSteed is that it's MORE than just an email system. It's actually included as part of LeadsLeap, which I've talked about in my Leads article. (It's free to join.) This is a platform that helps you to develop leads in several ways. It does include a traffic exchange, but also lets you build followers by giving away tools like SendSteed, a fantastic link tracking system, link rotators, and more.
This means YOU don't have to create something of value to build a list of followers; you already have something to offer. Maybe more importantly ... these are really powerful tools for YOU to use in growing a business.
LeadsLeap also has a review section where you can write a review about any program you're part of; this is combined with the reviews others have written to get very strong SEARCH ENGINE COVERAGE. They then rotate the referral link on that page among all contributors, helping you to attract people to your other programs. (By sharing, you get more search engine traffic than you would alone -- so it's worth getting your link rotated.)
I'm not going into all the details of LeadsLeap here, but you need to understand that it's the only way you can get SendSteed.
BOTH PLATFORMS ARE FREE. So when you join LeadsLeap, you immediately have access to SendSteed.

Should You Upgrade to Pro for $20/Month
I encourage people to look for EFFICIENT ways to spend when they're first starting into business. I encourage them to look at free solutions as often as possible. And LeadsLeap / SendSteed offer plenty for free. But ...
... other platforms charge $20/month just to have 500 contacts with an autoresponder system. With LeadsLeap, $20/month gives you:
So, do I think you should join for free to use both LeadsLeap and SendSteed? Yes. I think you'll be happy with them as a free member. But do I think you should upgrade to Pro? I've been upgraded for several years. It's the only lead system I'm upgraded in, and I think it's worth it just for SendSteed.
There you go ... a FREE system that lets you email MLM / affiliate type offers. But with the option to upgrade for a ton more benefits that you won't find packaged like this anywhere else. Do check it out!

- Subtle verifications for those who forget to verify their subscription; stop LOSING the people who meant to sign up for your list!
- Pro ads inside LeadsLeap -- this usually leads to over 1000 "Real Visits" (they check against bots or people bouncing) per month to my sites. This is without having to surf other people's ads (you can do that and get more credits), and you get your ads shown in more places.
- Free followers that are distributed among Pros. I've gotten over 900, having been a Pro for a few years now. You get to message 10 levels of followers (for free or paid accounts) PLUS these freebies as a pro.
- Some upgrades to the link tracker. (This is already VERY powerful for free users. Gets even better for pros.)
- 4 times the link rotations vs. free members in those "Review Pages" I spoke about before, attracting people to other things you're part of.
- TWICE the affiliate commissions if you refer anyone else who becomes a pro.
