People are motivated in business by how they're paid. (Not only in money -- could be how their work makes them feel; incentives; etc.) So in network marketing, you might see a company adjust its compensation plan after it's had time to see what kind of actions the original plan is driving.
Sometimes it seems pretty clear that a change is made from greed, and the members suffer. This often gets a lot of people to leave the company, so the company loses money, and the greed ultimately backfired on them. Many of us have seen this happen.
Sometimes, however, the change is simply the right thing to do. Solavei's change is one of those cases -- although I didn't like it at first. Here's why:
Previously, someone could join Solavei, then refer just ONE PERSON and actually make some decent money if that person did a lot of sharing. I liked this because your average person could really have his life changed by joining Solavei and making just a small effort -- which is all that most people are willing to make.
But the bottom line is ... it doesn't keep the company healthy if it has to reward those who really want to do nothing. So the new plan had to say this:
So now, you must refer 3 people to Solavei before you can make any money. And if you want to earn substantially, you need to refer at least 12-15 people, and some of those people must ALSO start making referrals. In other words, there are minimum requirements for the size of your first and second level in order to earn monthly bonuses. These bonuses range from $250 to $20,000 per month, so they are worth achieving.
Having been through the trenches in network marketing for a while now, I can tell you there is a real benefit to this mentality. You are lucky if one in four people that you refer take serious action on a business opportunity like Solavei. So if you refer 12 people, 3 or 4 of them might really go after it like a business. In Solavei, you benefit from ALL the people you refer, but they give you the right idea of bringing in enough people that some will get to work.
If you bring in 15 and 4 of them bring in 15 (even if this takes some time), you've got 75 people on your first two levels. Not only would you be earning $1300+ per month at this point, but it sets the stage for growth to continue, because you have a broad enough foundation. Companies who tell you to just get 3 who get 3 really mean "Get 12 so that 3 will go to work. Those 3 need to each bring 12 so that 3 of them will go to work." Etc. In other words ... for real success, you always need to share with as many people as you can.
The difference with Solavei is that you're not trying to put something NEW into someone's budget. And you're not trying to sell them something that's overpriced. You're trying to bring them a BETTER value on something they already spend on. And that's a much easier thing to offer any day.
