So when I use the word "awesome" to describe Cash Texts, it's an opinion about the structure of the opportunity and what they are working towards. Let me explain:

I'm a big fan of programs that cost nothing to join and that give you a website for free. I think companies should focus on making money from their products or services. When you're competing with the world of affiliate marketing (no cost for affiliates), this is a strong feature.
I don't mind having to spend money on products or services if they compete well with the retail marketplace (aren't overpriced). But a program like Cash Texts that NEVER costs a dime has the opportunity for tremendous, viral growth. This is what I expect to see as the text ads flow regularly and people are earning money just for opting in.
Many programs have grown around the idea of earning money by generating ad revenue. But in most cases, members have to go online and do something in order to generate the cash. With Cash Texts, the money arrives in your pocket as texts are sent to member phones. This makes it far more passive.

That tells you why I like the basic structure. But what about where Cash Texts is heading? Besides giving you money to receive texts and more money for 5 levels of referrals receiving texts (with NO qualifications for getting paid on all 5 levels) Cash Texts is expanding in the right directions. I love these two examples:

CASH PERKS. In the coming weeks, they will add this to the program. So you can receive MORE texts, and when you open them you get cash perks. You get more perks if you share them on your social networks and I presume people click to learn more. You earn more perks when your 5 levels of referrals open the texts. The company then divides the profits according to how many points people have. So the more you share great deals, the more you can earn.
CASH TEXTS LOCAL. While I still have some questions on details about this, I love the concept: local businesses can build lists of local Cash Texts members by giving a discount or a little freebie to those who opt in to Cash Texts. Now for that one-time discount or giveaway, they earn money as those people receive future texts.

Plus their deal can be forwarded to others. So as members refer more members to the deal, a larger group is created for the local business to earn from. More than that: now the business has a local list of people who know about it and who can receive future Cash Texts from that business. It's like building a local opt-in list.

Of course best of all ... if YOU introduced that business to Cash Texts, YOU benefit from that deal as well. As they build a list, YOU are earning on the business and their first 4 levels of referrals. With a great local deal, this could put hundreds or even thousands of people into your team to earn from!

]]><![CDATA[Being First in a Network Marketing Company]]>Fri, 06 Apr 2012 17:12:04 -0500http://www.opportunitycourse.com/1/post/2012/04/being-first-in-a-network-marketing-company.htmlIf you've looked into network marketing (MLM, direct sales) opportunities, you've surely come across those that tell you "you're in the right place at the right time," that it's a ground-floor opportunity. There is a definite value to being in at the beginning if a company is going to last, but one thing you should NOT believe is that you'll never see another ground-floor opportunity. They happen every day.

What IS unusual is to find a GREAT company at the beginning. Most of what you find in network marketing is:

Another cheap marketing system (mail exchange, splash page surfer, etc.) that doesn't really help anyone but that legally covers the compensation plan so that the first few people in will do well.
Another overpriced product of any other kind, again covering a compensation plan so that the first few people will do well.

In short, it always, always, ALWAYS comes back to the value you get for joining whether or not you make money with it. If you're happy with the value you get for being involved, then why wouldn't you be happy to share it with someone else? And THAT is the point at which you can make some legitimate money. This way, whether you're in at the beginning or not, you're happy. If you make a little money, you're glad about that. If you turn it into a living, you can be exceptionally satisfied!

If you find THAT kind of value AND you are among the first to join, this can really help out. Some compensation plans (like forced matrices) naturally give the advantage to those who are in first. But even in a unilevel plan (which I happen to like as inherently the fairest type), the first people to learn about and ACT on an opportunity are those who have the chance to invest their time into sharing information online and building up a search engine presence. This early investment of time can pay off for years to come, and if they will spend that time to really share the program, it can turn into the kind of income most network marketers dream about.

Success will of course still come back to how well the company runs the show. But there's no question that claiming an early stake can offer a meaningful advantage. I believe that kind of opportunity is available to those who stake a claim in ChocoNat in 2012, since ChocoNat offers a better product and better value than most in its niche (yes, compared to RETAIL) and as of April 2012 there are probably no more than 100 members in North America.

Previously getting paid from Cash Texts meant first earning $5, which would cover the cost of the debit card they would send you. So you wouldn't pay out of pocket for your card, but you effectively paid for it from your earnings.

iCareCard costs $4.95, which covers the cost of getting it set up and shipped to you. But then your earnings from Cash Texts start going directly onto it. And when you set up the card, you choose a charity that you want money going to when you use the card.

I will point out that there are only a few merchants in a few states at the moment, as this is a new program. But because this is a way to financial institutions and programs like Cash Texts to PROMOTE local businesses (advertising paid for only AFTER a sale is made, through a "cash back" offer that supports charities), I can see a lot of businesses wanting to sign up for this over time.

Another benefit to the program: your card says Cash Texts on it, so when you're using it, it's a nice way to open a conversation about the fact that you're paid just to receive text messages!

But what if 10 minutes of simple work legitimately paid you $90 over the course of one year, and another $90 every following year?

And what if another 10 minutes into it, you were able to earn another $162 per year?

Just for kicks, I was thinking of Cash Texts in this way. While they aren't sending out many texts yet, they believe they are close to sending out regular text messages, and if you maxed out at receiving 5 per day, you could earn up to $7.50/month ... or $90 per year ... just by signing up one time and filling out your profile.

Then if you spent a few more minutes just telling the people you know about it, getting just THREE people on board who also maxed it out (5 texts per day) would earn you another $13.50/month, or $162 per year. If you got more people than that, or they shared with others, the earnings could grow.

I don't assume anyone will really get 5 texts every day, but there is so little work involved in joining, and so little work involved in sharing, it's one program that really can pay you back at a ridiculously high pay for the time you put in.

Well, no money anyway. Some began their rise to wealth from just a few dollars. What it did take was ingenuity, tenacity, the ability to surround themselves with the right people, and no doubt the willingness to work hard.

Not everyone has these qualities, but luckily businesses make it easy for us to still enjoy what looks like "something for nothing." Once you buy a TV set, you get basic TV for nothing. You get magazines and newspapers cheaply. You can even get a Kindle for less ... all because of advertising.

But what if instead of getting TV, cheap magazines, or low-cost Kindles ... you could just get the cash? What if advertisers would pay you directly for your kind attention to their messages?

Thanks to the digital world -- where delivery costs little to nothing -- advertisers don't have to spend on printing and postage, but they do have to pay for attention. If they use the Pay Per Click model in search engine results, they pay more and more to get seen vs. other businesses. But what if you just opted in to their ads and they could spend less to reach you by paying YOU rather than Google or the others?

Then the business and consumer both win -- by leaving the middleman out.

That is the model of a few current businesses trying to connect businesses to consumers who have opted in and volunteered information about their age, gender, location, interests, etc. In my opinion, though, most of these businesses have made it hard for the consumers to engage, so success has been minimal.

This is where I'm excited about the prospect of Cash Texts, where opting in is easy, and once you're in, the ads come right to your pocket. You don't have to log in to a website or spend time watching them. They're sent to you on your mobile phone, and you're paid whether you open them or not.

With this program, you can earn a maximum of $7.50/month without referring anyone else, just to receive ads. So this really is "free money," even if it's not a lot. This assumes you're in a country where they're sending text messages.

EARNING A WHOLE LOT MORE
More importantly, if you want to earn a lot of money with this program, is that these ads come directly to those you've referred into the program. So you're not hoping they'll log in or watch ads. They just get them and you're paid accordingly.

The possibility at Cash Texts is that each person referred into your group -- on FIVE LEVELS of referrals -- is worth up to $4.50 to you. This assumes they're receiving 5 texts a day for 30 days, which assumes they've filled out their profile and advertisers want to reach them. I prefer thinking about this program on a more conservative scale. What if everyone in my group is worth $1 to me?

Then if I refer just 3 people (to a totally free program) who refer 3 more, and this continues on ... if everyone is worth $1/month to me, then I have:

3 + 9 (3 referring 3 each) + 27 + 81 + 243 = 363 people = $363/month. That's a nice car payment for referring 3 people to a free program. (And of course this same number could be worth more than $1000/month, depending on the number of texts received by the group.)

REALLY ACHIEVING SUCCESS
Of course the math will never work out perfectly like that, and anyone wanting to turn this into meaningful income is best advised to share this with 15 or more people who would verify their mobile phones to receive ads. From these, maybe 3 (20% of the total) would be active enough to duplicate that effort. If they did, and no one else made referrals, this is how the numbers go:

YOU Refer:
15 People (3 will refer 15 more each)
45 People (9 will refer 15 more each)
135 People (27 will refer 15 more each)
405 People (81 will refer 15 more each)
1215 People (Last level you're paid on)

Total = 1815 People. Everyone in this model is look for 3 VERY ACTIVE people, and everyone in the group is at least willing to verify their mobile. If each person receives about one text a day, you could earn $1800 per month on this group. Of course the maximum possible is over $8000/month!

So can you make money for FREE? With programs like this, you certainly can. Of course you're still putting in time to share it and perhaps to show your referrals how to share it with others. You may spend a little on business cards. How you do it is up to you. But you don't have to invest anything in the business itself, and with word of mouth and a free website given to you, making money for free is definitely on the table.

Well they just sent out their first texts, starting late last night. I received my first text today.

This week we're supposed to have a system in place where we can track how much we're earning from texts received by ourselves and our teams. I'll keep track of its progress here.
